Three years ago today we were diagnosed with cancer. In a lot of ways it feels like an ETERNITY ago…but I can still replay every second of that day (even the fact that my doctor wouldn’t actually say cancer, but some mumbo jumbo like “your results are consistent with thyroidal papillary carcinoma”…yeah, that’s cancer, even she was afraid of the word).
But anyway, these last years have been a mix of emotions that I never thought we’d be dealing with in our twenties, but I’m thankful to be here. It’s a good lesson that we’re “all one phone call from our knees…”
We never know what our day will bring. I sure didn’t three years ago…but I’ve learned to be sure you fill your days with family and friends as much as possible.
